Use these steps for Outlook in Microsoft 365 apps, Outlook 2021 and Outlook 2019 on Windows.
- Open Outlook. If it's the first time, the setup screen opens by itself. Otherwise go to File > Add Account.
- Enter your full email address and choose Connect.
- Enter your Microsoft 365 password when the Microsoft sign-in window appears, and approve the sign-in on your phone if asked.
- Choose Done. Outlook downloads your mail, calendar and contacts. A large mailbox can take a while.
Using the new Outlook for Windows? Go to Settings > Accounts > Email accounts > Add account, enter your email address and sign in.
Outlook asks for a server name or keeps asking for the password? Check the domain's DNS has the autodiscover record Microsoft lists in the admin centre under Settings > Domains, then restart Outlook.
