How to add blocked IP Addresses in IP TABLES

Adding Blocked IPs to IP TABLES

1. Enter into the CT (Skip to step 2 if this brings up an error message)

# vzctl enter CTID

 

2. Create new chain "TMP_BLOCK"(arbitrary name) (Skip this step if TMP_BLOCK already exists)

# iptables -N TMP_BLOCK

 

3. Add the new chain into INPUT chain

# iptables -I INPUT -j TMP_BLOCK

 

4. Add new rules into TMP_BLOCK

# iptables -A TMP_BLOCK -j DROP -s <IP Address>

 

5. To show current rules of iptables,

# iptables -nvL

Example:

*Do step #4 to add additional ip addresses.
